Welcome to the Headingley Friday Support Group

Established in 1987, Headingley Friday Support Group is a drop-in social group for people with in an interest in mental well-being. Many members have used or worked in mental health services or are/have been a carer.

The purpose of the group is to support one another through social activities such as the regular meeting every Friday afternoon; organising day trips in the summer and an annual holiday; celebrating each other birthdays; going out for an evening meal; and having Christmas dinner.

Everyone is welcome - just turn up any Friday.

There's just a minimal charge (currently 20p) towards the costs of refreshments. The Group is run on democratic lines i.e. one member, one vote ( such as to determine where we go on trips and holidays ). Although we apply for a grant to subsidize the cost of day trips and holidays, Headingley Friday Support Group is independent of any statutory organisation such as Leeds Partnerships NHS Trust and Leeds Adult Social Care.
